DISPOSE OF YOUR ELECTRONIC WASTE
(FOR MOSTLY FREE)
EASY AND LOCAL: Bring Your Electronic Trash to the Tarrytown Village Garage
Tarrytown Environmental Advisory Council is dedicated to helping you keep your electronic waste (and more!) out of the landfill.
There’s little more depressing than seeing old television sets reclining in a curbside snowbank, waiting for a collection that never comes.
Here’s the solution: Bring your televisions and other electronics to the collection site at Tarrytown Public Works, 4 Division Street in Tarrytown. The site is part of the EWASTE+ Alliance Network, registered with the NY DEC.
Below is a list of items you can bring to the electronic recycling center at 4 Division Street:
- Small scale servers
Computers (including laptops, desktops, tablets and e-readers)
Electronic mice or similar
printers (less than 100 lbs.)
Small electronic equipment
Digital video recorders
Portable digital music players
DVD players (including projectors with DVD player capabilities intended for home-use)
Digital converter boxes
Cable or satellite receivers (including digital media receivers)
Electronic or video game consoles
…and here’s a list of stuff they DON’T accept:
- Alkaline batteries
- Smoke detectors/Carbon monoxide detectors
- Devices containing liquid mercury (thermostats, switches, medical devices, thermometers)
- household appliances
- air conditioners
- fluorescent lamps
- tape media (DVD’s, VHS, CD’s, cassette tapes, floppy disks, SD cards, etc.
*Fees and acceptable electronic items may vary. Contact the drop-off site at 914-631-0356 for details.
