Good news! Sustainable Westchester, manager of the Westchester Power community energy program, has successfully completed the bidding for the renewal contract for Tarrytown. The bid was awarded to Constellation New Energy for the electricity supply to run from January 1, 2021, to June 30, 2022. The default supply for the Village of Tarrytown will remain the 100% renewable energy option.

Through the Westchester Power program, residents and small businesses can access clean electricity supply and collectively have mitigated over 660,000 tons of greenhouse gases since 2016.

In the next few days, current active participants will be receiving a renewal notification letter with all program details including instructions on opting out of the program. To stay in the program, residents need to take no action – they will be automatically enrolled in the program on their first meter read day starting January 1.

Residents who have previously opted out, or are currently contracted with a private supplier will not receive a letter and will not be enrolled.

The program is very different from standard ESCO offerings – participants are never locked in to their choice and can change supply options, opt-out, or opt back into the program without any costs or penalties at any time. To do so, they should visit www.sustainablewestchester.org/wp or call their offices at 914-242-4725.

Westchester Power is also hosting an online information session on December 3rd at 7PM. See below, and REGISTER HERE.
