The Route 9 Active Transportation Conceptual Design Plan Coalition is sponsoring the first public meetings to gather input on a plan to make Broadway safer for people walking and cycling through Westchester’s Rivertowns. The workshops will take place on Thursday, June 15th from 7-9 pm at the Hastings Community Center and on  Saturday, June 17th from 1-3pm at the Warner Library in Tarrytown. The team is looking forward to the public’s insights as to where problems exist, as well as ideas on how to fix them. Opinions and discussion are welcome.

Earlier this year, the coalition, which is comprised of the Villages of Hastings, Dobbs Ferry, Irvington, Tarrytown and Sleepy Hollow, was awarded a $150,000 grant from the New New York Bridge Community Benefits Program to study and present a comprehensive plan to improve travel and safety along Route 9
